Some Randomness About Me

I love to read "About Me" sections on people.  Even random people that I do not know.  It's just something that's interesting to me.  So I thought I would open up and allow you to get to know me a little better by sharing some information about me.  Some facts that are important, things that define me, and some random meaningless things.  This post turned out to be longer than planned, but don't get too excited..I'm still not very interesting.  So here's to All About Me...

Most importantly I am
a wife and a mother
and a believer in Jesus Christ.
My faith and my family are the
absolute most imortant things to me.

Me and my husband have been together
since I was 14 years old,
for over 10 years now.
And married for almost 4.
We have a very special love.
He is my best friend.
I can't even begin to imagine my life without him.

I do work and I love my job
I would rather be a stay at home mom.
Spending time with my husband and my two daughters is
my favorite thing to do.

I have very few friends but I value those friendships.
I've never felt like I "fit in"
but I'm okay with that.
I do love people and always like to believe the best of them.

I have very strong morals and beliefs.
I am extremely sensitive
and emotional.
I hate confrontation more than anything.
I always want to please everyone and try very hard to do so
but I get overwhelmed by it.
I have a tendency to take on other people's feelings.
I am an introvert, an ISFJ to be exact.

I hate being the center of attention in a group.
Even with just family.
I experience anxiety, nervousness and sometimes panic attacks.

In the 10.5 years I've been with Scott,
I've never left him a voice mail.

I'm scared of the dark, very scared.
I have many fears. And I hate it.
I have a bigger appetite than most would think.
I'm probably the pickiest eater ever.
I love the movie "Charlotte's Web"
"Chin up, chin up.  Everybody loves a happy face.
Wear it, share it.  It'll brighten up the darkest place...."
Spring and summer are my favorite seasons.

I love animals,
like would keep almost anything as a pet.
And that's why I've yet to kill the slug that sneaks under the door and into our house every night.
He doesn't get past the dog food and goes back out a few minutes later.
He is just an innocent slug.  I've named him Sammy.  Kind of embarrassing. But true.

I love artsy things like
drawing, painting, photography, crafty projects,
and things of that nature.

I am "Robotic" as my husband says.
Things generally have to be a certain way.
Like if he loads the dishwasher, I find myself rearranging it.
(Probably because he purposely loads it in an unorganized manner, just to see my reaction)
I follow recipes to a T.  Yet I can't cook at all.

I am recently aware that I love blogging.
Maybe it's because I love my life and want to share it with the whole world,
or maybe it's because I think it will be neat to look back on this 10 or 20 years from now
and read about my life in a story-like way,
or maybe it's because I never realized that I actually enjoy writing,
or maybe it's because I am sort of shy and reserved
and even socially awkward at times,
so writing about what I want and sharing my feelings,
and talking about anything and everything that want
without being interrupted
is therapeutic to me.
Regardless, I enjoy it.
And I love that it's your choice to read it or not.

I am a Christian.
But I fail miserably at honoring God with all that I have.
But what's great is that He knows what's in my heart and He forgives me.

I love life.
But life is not perfect.
It's hard. It's overwhelming.
Finding balance is a constant chore.
But I know that everything happens for a reason.
It's all part of God's plan.
So as difficult as it is sometimes,
I try to welcome the imperfections of life.

And I'm not quite sure why I laugh...

I thought it would be fun to share a little bit about Scott's randomness...part of his personality that not many people see.  He picks on me...a lot.  And as frustrating as it is (emphasis on frustrating), I usually can't help but laugh.  Thinking back, here are some of the things that happened just this week...
  • He pulled my pants down, in front of our big dining room window.
  • He squished a goldfish on my forehead.
  • He sprayed chocolate whipped cream in my face.
  • He pre-chewed a chocolate chip cookie, and squeezed it out of his mouth onto my cheek...all over my cheek.  Disgusting!
  • Knowing how incredibly scared I am of the dark, he cut the kitchen light out on me when I was setting up my coffee pot for the next morning, intending to cut it back on as soon as I rounded the corner...but as soon as I realized it, I booked it to the bedroom, not realizing Alyssa's exersaucer was in the way...totally tripping over it...I cried and laughed and peed in my pants.  He sincerely apologized for the trauma it caused me.
  • It snowed this of coarse he had to throw snow at me.
  • He ate a piece of chocolate candy, and since I refused to try a piece of it for myself, he licked my mouth (including inside my mouth) with the chocolate all over his tongue...blah!
  • He flicked his toothbrush (full of water) at me AND...
  • He put ice down my pants.
Umm yes, he did do all of these things to me just this week.  And I'm sure there's countless more that I can't think of at the moment.  Boys never completely grow up.  But that's okay.  It makes me laugh...well sometimes...after the fact at least.  And despite all the picking, he did tell me loved me every chance he got, he did tell me how beautiful I was countless times, and he and Keira even picked me a pretty flower from our yard!

Mom's Birthday!

In case you haven't noticed, we celebrate birthdays in our family.  No family member's birthday goes without celebration, and yesterday was my mom's birthday.  Instead of being spoiled and catered to, silly her decided to cook for the family and a couple friends at her house.  But Mom LOVES to cook, so it was enjoyable for her to have the opportunity to cook yummy food and even try a few new pinterest recipes.  (And I didn't even get pictures of half the food)  We all had a fun time and definitely ate too much!  Here are a few pictures from the evening...

Well we had our first and hopefully only snow of the season earlier in the week.  I typically LOVE snow, but with the mild winter that we've had, I've been ready for tank tops and flip-flops since Christmas.  But this was Alyssa's first real snow, so I was excited to snap a few photos...

We've ALL been sick for a couple of weeks now, so it probably wasn't the smartest thing in the world to take them out to play, but I just had to.  Not for long though.  In fact, Keira only wanted to play a few minutes before asking to go in.  Surprised at that but easier than having to drag her fit-throwing self in.  That just shows how sick she has been though...Heart-breaking =(  Alyssa only went out for a couple of minutes...she mainly sat in her exersaucer right inside the glass door and watched her big sister play...she was happier there!

Oh and by the way, how does everyone like my new blog design?  I can't decide if I really love it or not.  It's not at all what I had in mind when I wanted to find a new background.  It's very LOUD, a lot louder than what I was going for.  But Keira is loving purple these days, and we're a family with mostly girls so I think it will work for now.

A New Kinda Bathtime!

Isn't that just the sweetest little face and the chubbiest little cheeks you've ever seen?  Oh how I love her!

Alyssa, being 7 months old now, has still been taking baths in her little baby bath tub.  Partially because she has a hard time sitting up by herself...and partially because she is my baby and I enjoy baby-ing her every chance I get!  But we tried a new kinda bathtime this week...Alyssa had her first big girl bath, sitting up, with her big sister!  Of coarse, she still had to sit in a little bathseat because she has a tendency to topple over while sitting upright for more than a few seconds, but other than being a bit wobbly, she did well.  I think she enjoyed her first big girl bath and I know Keira loved having her baby sister in the tub with her!
